SAM Mouldings launches its range of wood veneer wrapped MDF profiles 2006 To complement its range of market leading primed and unprimed mouldings, SAM Mouldings has launched a top quality selection of real wood veneered profiles. As was the case when SAM identified the need for primed MDF mouldings as a quality alternative for timber mouldings, they have now identified the clear market opportunity that exists for the use of veneer wrapped MDF in place of traditional solid wood. An overall investment of £500,000 in late 2005 / early 2006 saw the installation of a top of the range modular profile wrapping machine with automatic cut off saw, as well as extra sawing and moulding facilities to handle the expected increased high demand for wrapped profiles. Benefits that veneer wrapped mouldings bring over solid wood include, continuity of grain and colour, consistent long lengths, no knots, no warping and no wastage. The use of veneer wrapped mouldings over traditional wood will save time and money for the builder / DIY enthusiast who prefers a wood effect finish. SAM Mouldings offers lead times of between 3-4 weeks with minimum manufacturing quantity per section is approx 500 metres. This immediately brings a superior service package to the market as market lead times have traditionally varied between 4-8 weeks with minimum manufacturing quantities set at minimum 1000 metres. The core profile range on offer is torus, ogee, pencil round and windowboard as well as door framing / stop whilst core finishes are white oak, steamed beech and ash. SAM Mouldings also welcomes enquiries for non - standard profiles and finishes such as maple, sapele, walnut etc. This enhancement of the SAM product range will further consolidate their position as the UK and Ireland's market leader in the supply of MDF Mouldings and provide to their customer base an excellent opportunity to substantially develop their MDF mouldings sales. |
