SAM tells staff “Get on your bike!!!!”
On Thursday 3rd June 2010, Bikedock, Belfast, and SAM Mouldings teamed together to offer SAM staff a great opportunity to participate in the government “Cycle to Work” scheme. It is a very easy to use scheme which allows employers to benefit from 12.8% savings on Employer National Insurance, 25% savings on Capital Gains Tax, improved corporate image, “green” credentials and healthier staff. If this wasn’t enough to impress you, staff also benefit from massive savings (40%-52% in most cases), improved fitness and stamina, stress busting endorphins on the way to and from work and savings on the ever rising fuel and parking costs facing us all.
To date 22% of SAM staff have registered on the “Cycle to Work Scheme” with 5 of our Night Shift Staff being processed through the system, picking their perfect bike and cycling home on a new bike all within 24 hours of the Bikedock roadshow visiting SAM. On the day of the roadshow, Bikedock came armed with a variety of bikes and two fully trained sales representatives who answered all the relevant questions and queries of our staff.
Grace McClean, HR Manager, is delighted with the response to this scheme, SAM had expected considerably less interest in this scheme and now our only regret is that SAM didn’t join the Cycle to Work scheme years ago!!
