A running race with an official distance of 42.195 kilometres, or 26.219 miles – any way you look at it, a marathon is no easy feat.  A massive well done and congratulations goes to Chris Burns, dayshift Cell 2 Lead Op, who not only put his name forward to compete in the 2017 Belfast City Marathon, but who also represented and raised funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.  Months of hard work and training resulted in Chris crossing the finishing line in a time of 3 hours and 28 minutes, an unbelievable achievement and one which can be further enhanced by the fact that Chris finished in 228th place out of a total of 2,424 individuals.  To top everything off, the total raised by Chris put him in the top 1% of worldwide givers on JustGiving.com.  What a ‘run-derful’ feeling I’m sure that is – an amazing individual accomplishment.
